Help Comes in Many Forms – Coaching is but one!
As their ‘manager’ you probably feel responsible for doing more to help your employees. That’s understandable. However, finding time to coach is difficult (if not impossible). Worse, even after you put time aside to undertake a coaching session, there are many possible customer or production issues ready to interfere with and inhibit the effectiveness of the session.
The answer is externally-sourced, professionally delivered coaching, delivered by an experienced coach.
We recommend three coaching sessions, of between 1.5 and 2 hours each, as a preliminary assignment, to assess coaching as an effective tool to assist your employee.
During the first session, the goal will be to understand what will help the ’coachee’ achieve his/her goals. Together, we will review and assess the challenges facing the ‘coachee’. We will work through the participant’s DiSC profile. During this session too, the coachee will commence preparing a Personal Development Plan. The Plan needs to be worked on as a foundation for discussions during the second session.
Session Two happens two to three weeks after the first session. In this session the Personal Development Plan is reviewed, discussed and analysed, in order to explore those areas on which the coachee will focus. The participant will work independently over the next two to three weeks, to prepare an individual development plan, and this will become the format for discussions for Session Three. Any new issues that occur to the ‘coachee’ will also be discussed.
The third session builds on the previous two. It’s difficult to be exact as to where this session will lead.
The advantages of this approach are many. But possibly, the key is the independence and the experience of the coach. On the next page is a short resume of Ron Pollak, who you see has experience that is relevant.
The cost is $385 per session (plus GST) invoiced on acceptance of this proposal, plus out-of-pocket expenses. In addition, the DISC Behaviour Profiling tool will be employed as a framework for growth. There are a number of DISC models that range from $175 to $575, depending on the role of the person being coached.

A little about Ron Pollak – so that you can judge whether his experience and expertise is relevant for you, and your business.
Ron Pollak is an experienced consultant, with a background in accounting – M.Comm (UNSW). He worked as a chartered accountant, covering a range of roles at Deloittes (1973-83), working with a range of companies, including a stretch in New York. Ron left Deloittes to start his own consultancy in 1983. This consultancy grew to be the leading computer training company in Australia, Pollak Partners. Ron sold this company in 2000 to move into his passion, management and sales training. (The Pollak brand for high quality and results oriented training lived on past 2000, with the organisation only relatively recently dropping the Pollak name.)
Ron has run a number of businesses, including software development, training and consulting (1983-2015). Each of these businesses involved selling services through sales teams. He has exposure to complex sales processes, including winning from IBM a project worth more than $1 million, to develop training material for all systems at the Sydney Olympic Games. Since 2000 Ron has been developing training programs and delivering leadership and sales training, as well as – more recently – providing a coaching and mentoring service.
Stephen Covey, author of “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, said we are motivated “to live, to love, to learn and to leave a legacy”. Ron says, “My goal in providing a coaching service is to share the learning I have had and the experiences that provided this learning.”
